ASHLEY SCHMITZ, M.S., LPC, CSAC AREAS OF INTREST: Assessment and treatment of individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance used disorders, how the occurrence of one disorder affects the other and assisting in the development of healthy lifestyles supporting one’s recovery. Special interest in helping individuals experiencing psychotic disorders. EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Community Mental health with a specialization in working with individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders, Southern New Hampshire University, 2007. Bachelors Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 2002. Certified by the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing as a Professional Counselor and Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor. EXPERIENCE: Ten years of combined experience as a helping professional in the following areas: child welfare and adult mental health case management, AODA assessment and counseling, and individual mental health counseling. Worked in group home, hospital, clinic, home and community settings with children adolescents, adults and older adults. PERSONAL INFORMATION: Married with one child. Enjoys outdoors, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, exercising, and spending free time with family and friends. |
